Fund for Relief & Development

FRD is an international NGO registered in Colombo/Sri Lanka with the Ministry of Social Welfare & Women’s Empowerment promoting sustainable development and implementing communication based programmes, mobilizing existing communication networks and creating new ones.

The organization strives to achieve the above mission by implementing the following:

• Supporting the existing communication networks and setting up new ones.
• Training in the use of communication for human development. Non-formal and Formal educational programmes using all media.
• Providing consultancy services and evaluating communication programmes supporting human development.
• Disseminating research and other information material via internet, newspapers, publications, periodicals, books, magazines, television and radio promotion of sustainable development.
•  Implementing Programmes focusing on uplifting the livelihood of disadvantaged people.

FRD aims at operating in Sri Lanka, Maldives, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Pakistan, East Timor, Kenya and Tanzania

• Promoting Culture for Peace
• Contributing to MDGs
• Implementing Stress Relief Programmes
  

The programmes are implemented in association with partner organizations with financial support from international donor agencies.
