Chapter 5 - A lucky lightning (1)

Lightning
ELPHI

We were saved from the landslide by a passenger bus parked just at our side. That bus was not as lucky as us. It was completely crushed and buried by a huge landslide. Fortunately there was no one inside. As for my monkey students, they were all safe. Scared, but safe, up in the trees!

MAKI

(CRYING) I want to go home!

MONKITO

It’s over now, Maki, don’t worry.

MAKI

But that bus is buried!

BINDU

What are we going to do?

ELPHI

Children, come down from the trees! We must find a shelter!

BINDU

How?

ELPHI

I have an emergency plan!

MAKI

(ALMOST CRYING) And I’m scared!

ELPHI

Come down and climb on top of me!

MONKITO

(FOR HIMSELF) Great excursion… Elephant riding included.

MAKI

(ALMOST CRYING) Miss Elphi, if it continues raining like this, can there be another tsunami?

ELPHI

No, Maki, I told you before that heavy rains and tsunamis are not related.

MONKITO

Sure?
