Chapter 4 - Almost buried (1)

As you may remember, the school was flooded and we had to be evacuated by boat. The parents accepted the idea of a school excursion to lift the spirits. The children were delighted! They were at the bus even station before I arrived!

MONKITO

Good and wet morning, Miss Elphi!

ELPHI

Good morning, my children! For once you are early! (LAUGHING) Now let me see… are you all here? Maki, Monkito, Bindu… Yes. All here! Ready to go?

ALL

Yes!!!

ELPHI

Let the adventure begin!

 

Bravo!!

ELPHI

The children were very happy to get out of the school. And so was I, because they had been a bit restless. New horizon always helps to lift the spirits! (T) But after a couple of hours in the road, the continuous rain provoked a different mood…

MONKITO

What a heavy rain!

MAKI

The toads look like rivers!

ELPHI

You are lucky that you can use the trees as"roads"…

BINDU

Water is coming from all over.

MAKI

(ALMOST CRYING) Is there going to be another tsunami, Miss Elphi?

MONKITO

Again that question, Maki? Tsunamis have no relation with rains!

MAKI

I didn’t ask you, rude male monkey!

BINDU

We are lucky to be going up the mountain. Here there is no danger of floods.

ELPHI

Right. But there are other dangers…

MAKI

(SCARED) Whaaat!!!!

MONKITO

Miss Maki is crying again!

MAKI

Monkito, your tongue is longer than your tale!

ELPHI

In the mountain other disasters can take place. For instance, in other countries there are volcanoes
