Chapter 3 - Not even the frogs (4)

save by a boat
MONKITO

Let’s get into the boat, hurry!

ELPHI

We survived. And we learnt an important lesson: Don’t ever build too near to a river! Heavy rains can provoke floods and wipe out weak constructions. Fortunately, the school was well built. But it needed some repairs that would take time.

BINDU

What are we going to do now?

MONKITO

Why don’t we go for an excursion?

MAKI

In the mountains is not raining much!

ELPHI

We need permission from your parents.

MAKI

They know that we are safe with you, Miss Elphi.

ELPHI

All right, I’ll talk to them!

 MONKITO

Yes! We are going to the mountains!

ELPHI

I managed to convince all parents that an excursion would help the children forget the scare of the flood. So we all became very excited with the trip. But no one imagined what was going to happen.
